Durham PAGE is a community organization affiliated with NC Association for the Gifted and Talented.
Our mission is to support families with gifted children, enrich their learning experience through activities that go above and beyond the classroom, and advocate for excellent educational opportunities. We serve the gifted community in a variety of ways:
- Parent education workshops
- Saturday Academy monthly with a wide variety of enrichment field trips
- Game Day for families to socialize and play games in an informal setting
- Information on pertinent legislative efforts and local decisions affecting the way education is delivered
- Social Events to build friendships among families experiencing the fun and challenge of raising a gifted child.
Past Saturday Academies include: Chemistry at Duke, Scrap Exchange, Duke Institute for Brain Science, SEEDS, Duke Lemur Center, Astronomy, and more.
Parent Education workshops have covered topics such as twice-exceptional children, tips for parenting a gifted child, navigating the education system, advocating for your gifted child, and meeting the social-emotional needs of the gifted.
Durham PAGE has a 20+ year history of providing enrichment for gifted children and networking opportunities and resources for parents and teachers.
Durham PAGE seeks to identify needs in the Durham gifted community, and develop programs and solutions to meet those needs.
Durham PAGE is a volunteer-based organization. Community support is critical to the success of our mission and quality of our programs.
